Dilwale is a story of two lovers, Meera and Raj from rival mafia families. They fall in love but due to a misunderstanding involving Meera thinking Raj killed her father, the two become enemies. Their siblings, Veer and Ishita meet and fall in love but are faced with the difficulty of their elder siblings’ hatred for each other.
They make attempts at finding out the cause of the enmity but are told a false story. After a hectic cause of events, Raj finally confesses to Meera that he was not her father’s killer which makes her very remorseful and leads her to agree to the marriage of Veer and Ishita.
At Veer’s friend’s wedding, King, a drug gang leader who has been a constant problem in the lives of Raj and Veer, finds his stolen car at the venue and creates a scene, disturbing the ceremony. He engages in a fight with Veer and his friends.
Unknown to Raj who walks away to check on his brother, King is up and shoots at Raj but Meera blocks the shot, taking the bullet instead. Raj’s men take King down after the shooting which doesn’t kill Meera but leaves her injured to recover in the hospital where she reunites with Raj.
Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, and Kriti Sanon take on the main roles in this 2015 romcom.
